The practice was started in 1983 by Milton Braveman, OD, my father-in-law. I joined the practice in 1984 and Dr. Braveman retired in 1987. The first location of the practice was the first floor of my residence at 324 Market Street, Halifax, PA. In 1988 we re-located the practice to 217 Market Street. This cozy home was renovated and expanded over the next 20 years until we required a more accessible office with more professional use space.

 

We re-located again in 2008 to our current location at 901 North River Road. This new location provides adequate off-street parking, ADA accessible office space and expanded examination areas. We are very pleased with our 'new' office and hope that you will enjoy the homey feel and professional atmosphere.

​As I was nearing my 70th birthday, with thoughts of retirement more persistently entering my mind, I had a fortuitous meeting with Doctors Irma and Nicholas Bixler. I’m pleased to announce that the Bixlers now own the practice! Knowing they will continue to provide dedicated eye care services to the greater Halifax area means the world to me. My wonderful staff has opted to stay on, which will also be a great asset.
